'Akin’ meaning of similar character. The main inspiration for my project came from connections, with the connection of one item to another sparked through similar characteristics used to form this connection. Something that is often overlooked, with the beauty in what forms a connection frequently unnoticed by the majority. I wanted to bring these defining characteristics to life in a collection of bespoke textile fashion accessories. Through the development of a vibrant collection of graphic drawings and collage I was able to draw my inspiration and bring these to life through the use of hard materials to form an extravagant mixed media fashion accessory collection. With processes such as laser cutting, hand and digital embroidery, mixed media manipulation and embellishment used throughout.
